Ernest Davis

Ernest T. Davis, 81, of 2711 Hanging Rock Road, Inman, SC died peacefully at home on January 21, 2012 after an extended illness. He was retired from Community Cash Stores Warehouse after 45 years of service and was the son of the late William Henry Davis and Mattie Worley Davis. He attended Spartanburg High School, was an active member of Gravely Memorial United Methodist Church, and had been a member of the U.S. Navel Reserves. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy Jane Varn Davis and one daughter, Angela Davis Gaines and her husband, Wright Gaines; a grandson, Zachary Davis Gaines; sisters, Louise Rachel Finch of Greenville, Mattie Ruth Allen, and Alpha Holder both of Spartanburg; and brother Rev. Archie Davis of Marietta, GA; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy Cheryl Davis, a sister, Othello Davis Jones, and brothers, William Henry, James Elmer, Daniel Oliver, and Arthur Davis. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 24, 2912 from 1:00 until 2:30 PM at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev.
