Era Mae Bagwell Coleman, 82, of Spartanburg, died Sunday, July 9, 2023, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Era was born January 27, 1941, in Winston-Salem, NC, a daughter to the late William Crayton Bagwell, Sr. and Maebelle McDaniel Bagwell. She was the widow of Carroll William Coleman, Sr.
A charter member of Covenant Baptist Church, Era attended the Joy Sunday School Class and visited the church’s homebound members. She was retired from the Spartanburg County Delinquent Tax Office.
Surviving is her daughter, Kristie Martin (Evin); her sons, John Pruitt and George Pruitt (Margie); 5 grandchildren, Zach, Joshua, Allie, Seth and Matthew; two great-grandchildren; her brother, Bill Bagwell; her twin sister, Ruby Manly (Tom); and sisters, Dianne Graham, and Robbie Small (Johnson). Era was also predeceased by her sister, Lucy Evans and her husband, Glenn and her sister-in-law, Joan Bagwell.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Covenant Baptist Church, 200 Evangel Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303. Funeral services will follow in the Church Sanctuary at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Fort Prince Memorial Gardens, 126 Fort Prince Road, Wellford, SC 29385.
