Emory Desire'e Gaspar, age 18, the daughter of Maribel Sandoval Martinez, lost her life along with her brother, Jesus, on Sunday, July 28, 2024. in a car accident. A vibrant soul whose presence lit up any room, she danced her way into our hearts when she was born in Rutherford County, North Carolina on May 5, 2006.
As Emory brightened the lives of her teachers and friends of Arcadia Elementary School, she was such a joy to see in the hallways and classrooms. She was a recent 2024 Graduate of Dorman High School.
Emory's love for music and dance was infectious. Her native Mexican music filled the air wherever she went, spreading happiness to all those around her while she sang and danced. She carried herself with grace and beauty that touched the hearts of many. From a young age, Emory exhibited a passion for hospitality, dreaming of owning her own bed and breakfast venue one day. Her bright spirit and ambitious nature shone through as she walked through life. Emory was known for making every place she entered brighter and more welcoming.
Family was at the center of Emory's world. She was a devoted big sister to her three- year-old brother, Jaziel Martinez and loved spending time with Jesus and the rest of her family.

Sanchez, his grandfather, Jose Alberto Sanchez, uncle, Angel Sanchez, uncle, Saul Martinez, aunt, Nayeli Maldonado, cousin, Saul Martinez, cousin, Yadir Martinez, cousin, Jonathan Martinez, cousin, B r a n d o n Martinez, cousin, Jacob Martinez, aunt, Reyna Merida, uncle, Sergio Merida, cousin, Sergio Ilian Merida, cousin, Jazzlyne Merida, cousin, Emmanuel Torres, cousin, Sandra Escalera, uncle, Enrique Sandoval, aunt, Luciana Reithel, cousin, Abimael Sandoval, cousin, Joel Sandoval, cousin, Joanna Sandoval, cousin, Sophia Sandoval, cousin, Mathias Sandoval, aunt, Yecenia Sandoval, uncle, German Ponce Elas, cousin, Clarissa Razo, cousin, Omar Razo, cousin, Maite Sandoval, cousin, Cristian Zayden Ponce, uncle, Jesus Sandoval, aunt, Valeria Ramos, cousin, Victoria Melendez, cousin, Valentina Melendez, cousin, Mauricio Galeano, aunt, Miranda McCumber, cousin, Jadiel Sandoval, cousin, Jalani Sandoval, cousin, Aubrey Sandoval, cousin, Israel Valladares, uncle, Leonard McCumber, aunt, Dawn Westphal, cousin, Carmine McCumber, cousin, Karleigha McCumber, cousin, Rolando McCumber, and cousin, Malachi McCumber. She was joined in death by her big brother, Jesus Guadalupe Gaspar Sandoval.
As we mourn the loss of Emory, we also celebrate the vibrant life she lived. Her memory will forever be imprinted in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. The family will receive friends during a visitation that will be held on July 31, 2024. from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August ,1 2024, at 2:00 PM at Jesus Our Risen Savior Catholic Church, 2575 Reidville Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29301 and burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd, Spartanburg, CS 29307.
In this time of grief, let us hold onto the beautiful memories we shared with Emory and find solace in knowing that her spirit lives on in each life she touched. May she rest in eternal peace surrounded by the love she so freely gave during her time here with us.
