Emma Tuerk

Emma "Nikki" Tuerk, 89, of Simpsonville, SC, died Saturday, October 10, 2020, at Harmony at Five Forks. Born February 1, 1931 in Raleigh, NC, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Betty Keith Mingia. Mrs. Tuerk was a retired secretary with the Treasury Department. She enjoyed singing especially opera, loved bird watching, and was an avid reader. Survivors include her son, Edward Wesley Tuerk of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Anna Tuerk Kates (Robert) of Petaluma, CA, and grandchildren, Elizabeth Summers Kates of Bellingham, WA and Allison Marie Kates of Crystal Lake, IL. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Edward Frank Tuerk. No local services are planned.
