Emma Cox

Emma Jewel Harris Cox, 90, of Mayo, SC, died Monday, October 27, 2014, at Magnolia Manor of Inman. Born April 24, 1924, in Marshall, NC, she was the daughter of the late Dallas Edward Harris and Josephine Carroll Sexton Harris, and the widow of James Luther Cox, Jr. She was a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church, Inman, SC. Surviving is her son, Donald Richard Cox and his wife Libby of Pauline, SC; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Venice Vassey of Tryon, NC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Joyce Heatherly; and three sons, Roger A. Cox, James Randy Cox, and Robert Jeff Cox. A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 AM Thursday, October 30, 2014, in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens, 4164 Boiling Springs Rd., Boiling Springs, SC 29316, by the Rev. Allen D. Blanton and the Rev. Greg Butler. Visitation will follow at the graveside. The family is at their respective homes.
