Emily Reid

Emily Bradley Reid, 87, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, June 15, 2015, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born July 22, 1927, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late George Hampton Bradley Sr. and Annie Belle Cannon Bradley. Emily retired as executive secretary to the assistant superintendent of Spartanburg County School District 7 after 25 years of service. She was a lifetime member of the Presbyterian Church and a member of Second Presbyterian Church, the Fellowship Sunday School Class, Circle #2, Ladies Monday Morning Bible Study, and also served as church historian for many years. Surviving are her daughters, Marianna Davis (Joel) of Spartanburg, SC and Libby Sawyer (Rick) of Boiling Springs, SC; grandchildren, Marc Davis (Debbie) of Grayson, GA and Rikki Sawyer of Spartanburg, SC; great-grandchildren, Loren Boyd and Taylor Boyd; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Elizabeth "Beth" C. Bradley and Ruth P. Bradley; and brothers, George H. Bradley, William T. Bradley, Dan Bradley, and David D. Bradley. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Thursday, June 18, 2015, at Second Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, in the church sanctuary, conducted by the Rev. Steven H. Rhodes. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
