Emily Gregory

Emily Balentine Gregory, 85, passed away on Thursday, October 01, 2015, at Spartanburg Medical Center after a brief illness. Born October 31, 1929 in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Bernard and Clara Fayssoux Crocker Balentine. She was married for 50 years to the late Andrew Gregory of Moore, SC. Mrs. Gregory was employed by Spartan Mills, Startex Division for 42 years. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church of Roebuck, SC, for more than 60 years where she taught the Primary Sunday School Class and the Rebecca Class. Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Jerri Carole Warren, and her husband, Dr. Lawrence N. Warren, Jr., grandchildren, Mrs. Melissa Warren Wilkins (Jonathan), and Mr. Lawrence N. Warren, III, all of Spartanburg and beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by sisters, Ernestine Fayssoux Balentine Rivers, Miriam Balentine Bragg, Eleanor Balentine Kerr, Lillian Balentine, and brothers, Joseph Balentine Jr. and Franklin Balentine. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 797 Old Georgia Road, Moore, SC 29369, conducted by the Rev. Jim Oliver and the Rev. Joe Burnett. The committal will be in the sanctuary and the family will visit with friends in the narthex following the committal.
