Emily Irene Crossley

Emily Irene Fleming Crossley , 92 of Glendale passed away on Sunday, December 08, 2024, at White Oak Estates Spartanburg. Emily was born on March 17, 1932, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, to the late Victor S. and Susie Fleming.

Emily was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a babysitter for many children, including all of her grandchildren. She also cared for animals. She loved dogs, cats and birdwatching, especially humming birds. Emily enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Emily was a member of Glendale Baptist Church for many years.

Emily is survived by her two children: Brenda Crossley Coleman (Reuben), and John Robert Crossley (Cindy) of Pacolet, SC ; five grandchildren: Melanie Coleman Campbell (Robert) of Pacolet, SC , Sharon Coleman Merlette (Joey) of Elon, NC, Amy Coleman Felder (Joe) of Fort Collins, CO, Jay Crossley of Yulee, FL, Chad Crossley (Karen) of Spartanburg, SC; and seven great-grandchildren: Thomas, Virginia, and Emily Campbell, Elizabeth and William Merlette , Clay and Lily Grace Crossley. Emily was predeceased by her husband John B. Crossley; parents; Victor S. Fleming and Susan “Susie” Lemaster Fleming; and her siblings: Nellie Everman, Sarah Brooks, Harold Fleming, Avery Fleming, Leo Fleming and Victor Fleming.

The family will receive friends from 12-12:45 pm at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel located at 2075 East Main Street Spartanburg, SC 29307 on Wednesday, December 11,2024. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm conducted by Rev. Daniel Blackwell and Rev. Ralph Jett. Burial will follow at 2pm at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens located at 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd Spartanburg, SC 29307.
