Elyse Hines

Elyse Pike Hines, 83, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Eden Terrace of Spartanburg. Born December 23, 1929, in Inman, SC, she was the daughter of the late Howard Taft and Pauline Eliza Giles Pike. Mrs. Hines was a member of Fairfield Mountains Chapel, Lake Lure, NC and a registered nurse. Survivors include her cherished husband of 60 years, Earl Cantrell Hines; daughters, Paula Mitchell (Marvin) and Elyse Hasznos, both of Denver, CO; son, Tim Hines (Tonia) of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Kevin Mitchell of Denver, CO, Ryan Meyer (Taylor Burke) of Minneapolis, MN, Ashley Meyer of Lexington, KY, Adeline Hines and Ashton Hines, both of Wilmington, NC; and her brother, Fred Pike of Atlanta, GA. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Joe Pike; and a sister, Nancy Pike. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 14, 2013, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Everett Chapman. Visitation will follow at the home at 424 East Park Drive, Spartanburg, SC.
