Elwanda Marie Parris Brannon, 70, of Spartanburg, SC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born November 15, 1946, in Gaffney, SC, she was the daughter of the late Claude Dewey and Clara Mae Banker Parris. Elwanda pursued an Associate's Degree in Business in which she excelled and graduated with a 4.0 GPA. In addition, she owned and managed her own successful business, Brannon Daycare for 28 years. Elwanda had a very close relationship with her Savior and everywhere she went she was a beacon of light and shared the love of Jesus with everyone she came in contact with. To sum up her life, she was full of compassion, faith, courage, strength, giving, caring, and loving. She was a mighty warrior. Her one true passion in life was spending time and loving on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are her loving, supportive husband of 44 years, Michael Perry Brannon Sr. of Spartanburg, SC; sons, Jerry Kimbrell (Glenda) of Spartanburg, SC, Frankie Kimbrell (Mary) and Mikie Brannon (April), all of Boiling Springs, SC, and Matthew Brannon of Spartanburg, SC; daughters, Denise Turner (Joey) of Chesnee, SC, Teresa Jackson (Bill) of Cowpens, SC, Kathy Wilkie (Chuck) of Roebuck, SC, Se-dne Lowe (Rodney) of Union, SC; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Hope Shields of Spartanburg, SC. She was predeceased by her precious daughter, Sharon Nicole "Nikki" Brannon; a brother, Reel Walton of Maine; and a sister, Roberta "Bobby" Cunningham of North Carolina. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Dr. Tony Cribbs, Pastor Joey Turner, as well as prayers and eulogies from several family members. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Pallbearers are Christopher Turner, Timothy Turner, Brandon Kimbrell, Barrett Lee, Ryan George, and Allen Kimbrell.
