Elsie Wines

Elsie Hutchins Wines, 86, died Sunday, May 1, 2011, at RoseCrest. Born September 11, 1924, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Frank Smith and Hester Guy Smith Barner. She was first married to the late Perry Ezell Hutchins and then to the late Junior O'Neil Wines. She was a retired textile worker and also retired from S&S Manufacturing. She was of the Free Will Baptist faith. Survivors include a daughter, Irene H. (James) Foster of Spartanburg; two step-daughters, Betty Chapman of Spartanburg and Peggy (Calvin) Johnson of Chesnee; a grandson, Rick Foster of Spartanburg; three step-grandchildren, Donnie Johnson and Jennifer Johnson of Chesnee, and Sherry Chapman of Spartanburg; two great-grandsons, Blane and Allen Foster of Spartanburg; a brother, J. D. Smith of Shelby, NC; a sister-in-law, Norma Smith of Spartanburg; and three special nieces. Mrs. Wines was predeceased by a granddaughter Reneé Foster; a granddaughter-in-law Amy Foster; three brothers, Grady, E. J., and Clarence Smith; and a half-brother, James Barner. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM on Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. David Carter and the Rev. Charles Hall. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. The family is at the home of her daughter, 414 Shoally Brook Drive, Spartanburg.
