Elsie McArthur Taylor, 83, of the Presbyterian Home, died Monday, January 18, 2010, at Laurens County Hospital. Born December 14, 1926, in Glenn Springs, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Ellis and Estelle West McArthur and the wife of the late Albert T. "Bookie" Taylor. She was retired from Spartanburg School District 6 and a member of Glenn Springs Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy T. Rogers of Spartanburg; her son, Stanley Taylor of Trenton, SC; two granddaughters, Marie R. Boatman and her husband Jeff, and Terry R. Horres and her husband Kevin; two great-grandchildren, Allison Cameron Horres and Austin Copeland Horres; her sister, Nannie M. Casey of Pauline; and two brothers, William Earl McArthur and James McArthur, both of Spartanburg. She was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey Scott Taylor; two brothers, Julian A. McArthur and Joseph M. McArthur; and a son-in-law, Tommy Rogers. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 22, 2010, in Glenn Springs Presbyterian Church Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Dr. B. E. Pettit and Mr. Kevin Horres. The family will receive friends following the service in the Family Life Center.
