Elsie Nix

Elsie Mae Nix, 83, of Lake Odessa, MI, formerly of Spartanburg, SC, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014, in Ionia, MI. Born December 23, 1930, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Chauncey David and Nora Grant Nix and widow of Thomas Henry Nix, Jr. She was a member of Chesnee Freewill Baptist Church. Surviving is her son, Thomas "Butch" Nix III and wife Martha of Lake Odessa, MI; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Brenda Kay Nix. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. James Childers. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
