Elneta Thornton

Elneta Jackson Thornton, 94, of Glenn Springs, SC, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born May 6, 1919, in Horry County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Manley and Frances Sarvis Jackson and widow of W. Herbert Thornton. She was a member of Glenn Springs Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her daughters, Elaine Martin (Bob) of Pauline and Anne Thompson (Bill) of Spartanburg, SC; granddaughter, Nikki Allen (Clint) of Chesnee, SC; great-grandson, Seth Allen; sisters, Norma Lee Scoggins of Salisbury, NC and Lettie Phillips of Kannapolis, NC; and brother, Frank Jackson of Mullins, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Geneva Allen. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 13, 2014, in Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery, 3119 Hwy 56, Pauline, SC 29374, by the Rev. Dr. B. E. Pettit. Visitation will be at the graveside. Memorials may be made to Glenn Springs Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 6001 Hwy 215, Pauline, SC 29374. The family is at the home.
