Elmer Kirby

Elmer Dean Kirby, 77, of Chesnee, SC died Monday, November 30, 2020, at his home. Born April 19, 1944 in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Howard Lee and Eva Kirby and husband of the late Brenda Gail Massey Kirby. A US Army Veteran, Mr. Kirby loved gardening, and spending time with his family and friends. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his daughters, Eva Shehan (Jack) of Chesnee, SC, Crystal Calvert Kirby of Spartanburg, SC; son, Lewis Gerald Burnett of Germany; grandchildren, Charlie Shehan, Lewis Shehan, Rebecca Shehan, Ali Buffkin, Deanna Calvert and Seth Calvert; brother, Howard Lee Kirby and sister, Patsy Motts both of Pacolet, SC, and best friend, Rueben. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a brother, Jimmy Kirby. Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, December 3, 2020 in Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Visitation will be prior to and following the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Elmer Dean Kirby Memorial Fund, PO Box 1530, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
