Elliott Bauss

Elliott Bradford Bauss, 89, of Inman, died Monday, February 25, 2013, at Magnolia Manor. Born December 19, 1923, in Springfield, MA, he was the son of the late Herman Gottlieb and Marion Ruth Lee Bauss. A decorated veteran of the U. S. Navy (retired) 1940-1960, he served in World War II and received the Purple Heart among other awards. After he retired from the Navy he worked in the private sector in food service and also for General Dynamics. He was a member of St. Margaret's Episcopal Church and a Mason. Surviving is his beloved wife of 66 years, Mary Robb Thomson Bauss; daughter, Carol L. Bauss of Belfast, ME; son, Bradford L. Bauss (Celia) of Inman, SC; and granddaughters, Lindsay R. Bauss, Sarah E. Bauss, and Megan L. Bauss, all of Inman, SC. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 2, 2013, at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, 4180 SC #9, Boiling Springs, SC, 29316, by the Rev. Alan Leonard. Visitation will follow in the church Narthex. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Spartanburg Human Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
