Ellen Tessnier

Ellen Louise Phillips Tessnier, 70, of Pacolet, SC, died Monday, August 15, 2016, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born July 16, 1946, in Cowpens, SC, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Lennie Upton Phillips. A minister's wife for 37 years and a loving mother, Mrs. Tessnier was a member of Tate Memorial Baptist Church and the owner of ET Cleaning and Services, LLC. Survivors include her husband, Rev. Dennis Eugene Tessnier of the home; daughters, Rhonda Kirby (Barry) and Dena Hammond (Vance), all of Pacolet, SC; grandchildren, Josh Allison (Heather) of Pacolet, SC, Brittany Cooksey (Travis) of Pauline, SC, Ella Hammond and John Hammond of Pacolet, SC; great-grandchildren, Gage Allison, MacKenzie Mahoney, Levi and Lane Cooksey; brothers, Dean Phillips (Mary) of Sumter, SC, Donald Phillips (Peggy) of Pacolet, SC, Eddie Wayne Phillips (Toni) of Boiling Springs, SC, Clifford Phillips (Linda) of Gaffney, SC; and sister, Judy Sullivan (David) of Gaffney, SC. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Johnny Phillips and Mike Strange; and sisters, Ruby Crossley, Margaret Rogers, and Doris Phillips. Visitation will be 1:00-2:45 PM Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel, 141 Memorial Dr., Pacolet, SC 29372. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dennis E. Tessnier. Burial will be in Pacolet Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tate Memorial Baptist Church, PO Box 88, Pacolet, SC 29372.
