Elizabeth Wood

Ethel Elizabeth Crow Wood, 86, of Spartanburg, died Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Skylyn Place. Born September 28, 1923 in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Smith and Ethel Belcher Crow. Mrs. Wood was a retired Librarian at Dorman High School and was a member of Fernwood Baptist Church where she was the Church Librarian and a member of the Alpha Sunday School Class where she also held many offices. She, as well as her four sisters, were graduates of Winthrop College. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Robert Jones Wood; two brothers, Smith "Bud" Crow, Jr. of Rock Hill and Ronald Warren Crow and wife Martha of Pinehurst, NC; and number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters, Alma Stroud, Virginia Brown, Marge Kime, and Helen Wilson; and a brother, Marvin Crow. Visitation will be 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. P. Randall Wright and the Rev. Dr. James. W. Crocker. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fernwood Baptist Church, 250 Fernwood Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
