Sarah Elizabeth Patrick Smith, 95, of Spartanburg, died Saturday, December 17, 2011, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born April 29, 1916, in White Oak, SC, she was a daughter of the late James Harris and Bessie Johnston Patrick and wife of the late William Neely (Doc) Smith. She was a retired seamstress from Belk-Hudson at Hillcrest Shopping Center and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Cema Chreitzberg Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women Circle 7. Survivors include a daughter, Macie Smith (Daniel J.) Buckner of Chesnee; two sons, Robert H. "Bob" (Shirley C.) Smith of Boiling Springs, and Lowry Smith of Inman; grandchildren, Dr. Janet Elizabeth "Jan" Buckner (Chuck, Jr.) Carnes of Leesburg, VA, Jennifer Paige Buckner (Cameron) Colestock of Glen Allen, VA, Melissa Smith (Stuart) Reid of Inman, Patrick Neely (Rebecca) Smith of Boiling Springs, Ashley Smith (Aaron) Conk of Sheraton, IN; and Matthew Smith of Columbia; ten great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eleanor Patrick Alison of White Oak. She was predeceased by five brothers, James, Chris, R.A., Johnston, and David Patrick. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM on Tuesday, December 20, 2011, at Bethel United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at the church, conducted by the Rev. David E. Nichols and the Rev. Dr. Charles A. Graves. Burial will be at 4:00 PM in the White Oak ARP Church Cemetery in White Oak, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, 245 S. Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306; White Oak ARP Church, 284 Patrick Road, White Oak, SC 29176; or Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
