Elizabeth "Lib" Darden Seebert, 84, of Spartanburg, widow of Dr. Calbert Trent Seebert, died Friday, May 24, 2013, at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills, following a battle with cancer. Born August 6, 1928, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late John Parker Darden, Jr. and Ruth Ledbetter Darden. Lib was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg. She was a graduate of Spartanburg High School Class of 1945 and Winthrop College Class of 1949. She lived in Baltimore, Maryland from 1957 until 1985 where her husband was an anesthesiologist. Lib was a generous, loving, vivacious person greatly loved by all who were blessed to know her. Surviving are her sister, Belle Darden Griffin; her niece and nephews, Ruthie Neuse Slaton, Raymond Edwin Neuse and wife Debby, John Darden Neuse and wife Joyce, all of Spartanburg, Edwin Motte Griffin and wife Molly, and John Darden Griffin and wife Margaret, both of Mt. Pleasant, SC; great nieces and nephews, Jeffrey Griffin, Leslie Griffin, Elizabeth Griffin, Catherine Griffin, Grace Griffin, John Griffin, Jr., Tricia Slaton Tankersley, Marc J. Slaton, John Darden Neuse Jr. She was predeceased by her sister, Ruth Darden Ostrowski of Spartanburg. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM Sunday, May 26, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 am Monday, May 27, 2013, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, by the Rev. Tom Evans. Memorials may be made to Mobile Meals Service, PO Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
