Elizabeth Glover Pitts, 99, of Moore, SC, died Friday, September 17, 2021 at her home. Born April 19, 1922 in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late John Ralph and Ella Mae Collins Glover and the wife of the late Lee Roy Pitts, Jr. (Rocky).
A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt, her greatest joy was her family, for whom she loved to cook and entertain. Elizabeth was a life-long member of First Baptist Spartanburg and member of Yesterday’s Teens.
A graduate of Spartanburg High School and Cecil’s Business College, she went on to become the Executive Secretary for Mr. Bowen Greer of Greer Pharmaceutical Company. She worked in this position for 43 years.
Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Pitts Smith, husband John Michael Smith of Spartanburg, SC, her granddaughter, Ashley Bell Rodgers, husband William “Trey” Rodgers of Charleston, SC, great grandchildren, William Cooper Rodgers and Coleman Parker Rodgers, and her sister-in-law, Ruth Glover of Inman, SC. Also predeceased were a son, Richard Lee Pitts, and her siblings, Lillie Belle Glover Stevens, Charles Ray Glover, Arthur Earl Glover, John Ralph Glover, Jr., Robert Lee Glover, and George Marvin Glover.
Cryptside service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Complex, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. Corey Sizemore.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice Caregivers: Kimberly Whitmire (CNA), Ashley Cabaniss (RN), and Diann Foster (RN).
