Elizabeth Brannon Owens, 91, of Spartanburg, died Saturday, February 20, 2010, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born September 27, 1918, in Inman, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Oscar and Sally Page Brannon and the wife of sixty-four years to the late Grady Ezell Owens. A graduate of Inman High School, she was retired from Spartan Undies. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Spartanburg where she was a member of the Deborah Sunday School Class, the Young at Heart, and Yesterday's Teens Choir. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Edith O. Brannon of Gramling, and a devoted caregiver, Bessie Mae Quinn of New Prospect. She was predeceased by her twin brother, William Brannon; and two sisters, Margaret B. Phillips and Genelle Phillips. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 p.m. Monday, February 22, 2010, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Bill Adams, the Rev. Sal Barone, and the Rev. Robert C. Morgan. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be W. L. Revan, John Owens, Jr., James Ballew, Barry Owens, Richard Owens, Michael Owens, Johnny Hall, Dennis Crewshaw, and Jimmy McFarland. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 250 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306; or to Mobile Meals Service, P. O. Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
