Elizabeth Norris "Boo" Welch, 92, of 2780 East Main Street, Spartanburg, died Monday, April 23, 2012, at Eden Terrace. Born November 17, 1919, in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Allen Middleton Norris and Ruth Stokes Norris Kimmel and stepdaughter of Leon Kimmel. Boo was married, for 68 years, to the late Jack Tatum Welch. A graduate of Greenville High School, she and Jack enjoyed attending the annual reunion luncheons throughout their lives. Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Boo was a charter member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, serving her church in many capacities over the years. She served her community through volunteer work, including: the SPCA, Spartanburg Little Theatre, Mobile Meals, and for many years, Total Ministries of Spartanburg. Surviving are her daughter, Judy Herring and husband Don; son, Kim Welch and wife Sheila; daughter, Rebecca Shields and husband Larry; six grandchildren: Allison Tannery (Blake), Carrie Welch, Scott Herring (Kristi), Heather Barton (Shawn), Camden Shields, and Hayden Shields; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Eleanor Norris Massey and a brother, Allen M. Norris of Columbia, all of whom will miss her. A Celebration of her wonderful life will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev.
