Elizabeth Marr

Elizabeth "Lib" Brown Marr, 86, beloved widow of Fred Boyd Marr, passed away Friday February 10, 2012. Born March 21, 1925 in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of Charles "Charlie" J. Brown and Ida M. Hitt. She was predeceased by two brothers, Robert W. Brown and Jack V. Brown, and survived by two sisters, Louise B. Mabry and Margie B. Key. Mrs. Marr retired after more than 30 years with Winn Dixie. She was an active member of West View Church where she served the church family and community of Spartanburg. In addition to her two sisters, Mrs. Marr is survived by her daughter, Linda "Lyn" Marr Griffith, and her son, Dennis Wayne Marr and his wife Donna Marr. She has five grandchildren, Fred Griffith, Cindi Griffith Gregory, Christy Marr Harbinson, David Marr and Jonathan Marr, and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:45 PM Sunday, February 12, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 PM, in the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Stephen Johnson. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be family members. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to her daughter's non-profit organization, God's Little Haven (a program for physically and mentally challenged adults), 3720 Boiling Springs Highway Suite F, Box 135, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
