Elizabeth "Lib" Lanford Woolbright

Elizabeth “Lib” Lanford Woolbright, 100, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, May 7, 2023, at Summit Hills. Born September 30, 1922, in Woodruff, SC, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Maxwell Lanford and Helen Westmorland Lanford and widow of Deward Boyce Woolbright Jr.

Mrs. Woolbright loved her family, reading, and teaching. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree at Limestone College and a Master’s Degree from Converse College and retired from teaching at Spartanburg High School. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg.

Survivors are her daughter, “Bib” Gosnell (Jim); daughter-in-law, Duveen Woolbright; grandchildren, Michelle Woolbright Ford (Robby), Boyce Woolbright (Jaqui), and Ebby Woolbright; and great-granddaughter, Peyton Ford, all of Spartanburg, SC.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Boyce Woolbright III; and grandson, Davin Neal Gosnell Jr.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 10, 2023, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. Brian Redding. Visitation will be at the graveside.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 250 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306.
