Elizabeth Hoover

Elizabeth Floyd Hoover, 77, wife of 57 years to James W. Hoover of Boiling Springs, SC, died Tuesday, September 18, 2018. Born October 17, 1940, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Calvin and Vermie Lackey Floyd. She was a member of Morningside Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Lynne Tate (Tim), Terri Ridings (Gerald Smith), and Jami Smith; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by son-in-law, William Stephen Smith Sr.; four sisters; and three brothers. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, September 21, 2018, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by The Rev. Steven Owensby and The Rev. Jack Dodds. Visitation will follow at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kindred Hospice, 905 East Main Street Suite 2, Spartanburg, SC 29302; or Morningside Baptist Church General Fund, 897 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
