Elizabeth Hammett

Elizabeth Hammett, 81, of Pacolet, SC, died Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born April 21, 1936, in Gaffney, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Claude and Clara Mae Inman Smith and widow of Erman Yates Hammett. Mrs. Hammett was a member of Pacolet First Baptist Church and retired from Timken Bearings Company after 20 years of service. Survivors include sons, Bruce Hammett (Denise) of Lexington, SC and Norman Hammett (Renea) of Converse, SC; daughter, Starr Erwin (Steven) of Boiling Springs, SC; grandsons, Matthew Hammett, Ryan Hammett, and Nathan Erwin; granddaughters, Courtney Hammett and Haley Erwin; six great-grandchildren; sisters and brother, Rozelle Eaves of Union, SC, Frances Mullinax of Gaffney, SC, Joe C. Smith of Gaffney, SC, Maryann Gregg of Roebuck, SC, and Doris Smith of Gaffney, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a granddaughter, Sarah Jean Elise Hammett; grandson, Norman Brooks Hammett; sister, Claudis Padgett; and brother, John Smith. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Monday, May 22, 2017, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel, 141 Memorial Dr., Pacolet, SC 29372. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev.
