Elizabeth Coker

Elizabeth Whittaker Casey Coker, 81, of Spartanburg and formerly of Mauldin, SC, died Monday, July 21, 2014, at her home. Born September 21, 1932, in Laurens County, she was the daughter of the late Jay Riley and Mattie Ruth Manley Whittaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg. Among survivors are her husband, David G. Coker, Sr.; daughter, Lisa Denise Casey-Rowe of Mauldin, SC; daughter-in-law, Angie Casey of Charleston, SC; step-daughters, Jane Coker Sleigher of Spartanburg, SC, and Annette Coker Miles of Woodruff, SC; step-son, David G. Coker, Jr. of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Griffin Rowe and Kensey Casey; brothers, Sammy Carlise Whittaker, Jerry Wayne Whittaker; and sisters, Nancy Jo Freeman, "Totsy" Dorothy Walker, and Peggy Ruth Rainey. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Marshall Fred Casey; son, Travis Marshall Casey; and brothers, George Manley Whittaker, Billy Nathan Whittaker, Talmadge Leroy Whittaker, and Jack Riley Whittaker. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM Friday, July 25, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Robert C. Morgan and the Rev. Sal Barone. A committal service will be conducted at 1:30 PM in Graceland East Memorial Park, 2206 Woodruff Rd., Simpsonville, SC 29681, with Pastor John Yost III officiating. Memorials may be made to the Helping Center at First Baptist Church of Spartanburg, 250 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306. The family is at the home.
