Elizabeth Billings

Elizabeth Bullington Billings, 93, passed away peacefully Friday, December 13, 2013 at her home. Born April 26, 1920, in Roebuck, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Harrison Bullington, Sr. and Ethel Jennings Bullington and widow of Sam. L. Billings. Mrs. Billings finished school at Roebuck High School, attended North Greenville Junior College, and graduated from Appalachian Teacher College, Boone, NC. She taught school at Tabor City, NC, West Springs and Jonesville Elementary Schools. After retirement she was a literacy tutor for many years. She was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, Buffalo, SC, for over 65 years, and was a former Sunday School teacher, choir member, and church clerk. Surviving are sons, J. W. Billings (Kathy) of Enoree, SC, Joe L. Billings of Pauline, SC; sister-in-law, Janelle Bullington of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Melanie Aranda of Piedmont, SC, Bonnie Gibbs of Enoree, SC, Robin Billings of Atlanta, GA, Shannon Ravan of Pauline, SC, and Rhonda Billings of Pauline, SC; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Griffin Aranda, and Ella Gibbs; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, William Bullington, Jr. and John Bullington. Visitation will be 12:45-1:45 PM Monday, December 16, 2013 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, 2153 Mt. Lebanon Road, Buffalo, SC 29321. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, conducted by the Rev. Melvin Shelton and the Rev. Jimmy Farmer. Burial will be in Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery.
