Elise Hollifield

Elise Hollifield, 88, of 309 McAbee Road, died Monday, April 20, 2009, at a local nursing home. Born April 2, 1921, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Allen Ben and Allie Varner Wofford. She was retired from Spartanburg Regional Medical Center as a nursing assistant after 20 years of service. She was a member of Arkwright Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Leroy Hollifield; a son, Kevin Lee Hollifield and his wife Lynn Metze of Roebuck; a daughter, Kathy Brewington and her husband Fred of Woodruff; three granddaughters, Elizabeth Ann Hollifield, Sara Nicole Hollifield, and Tracie Lynn Dickson; a grandson, Jeffery Lee Brewington; a brother, Howard Wofford of Spartanburg; and three great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Danny Gray and the Rev. Charles Foster. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SRMC Foundation Office, 101 East Wood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
