Eleanor Craig Fielder Phillips, 77, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, August 30, 2013, at Eden Terrace of Spartanburg. Born May 24, 1936 in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Franklin and Rosa Elvira Jackson Fielder, and the wife of the late C. B. Phillips. Mrs. Phillips was a retired registered nurse, a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg and was a current member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Survivors include her children, Danny Phillips of Clinton, SC, Tom Phillips (Katherine) of Spartanburg, SC, Murray Phillips Cecil (John), Terry Phillips Jobe (Steve) of Hanover, IN, Pam Phillips Forrest (Charlie) of Greenville, SC, daughter-in-law, Montana Stambaugh of Pacolet, SC, seven grandchildren and sister, Lib Ferdon (Bubber) of Georgetown, SC. She was predeceased by a son, Louie Phillips and a sister, Rose Fielder. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 626 Norwood St., Spartanburg, SC 29302, conducted by the Rev. Dr. A. Stephen Holler. Following the service the family will gather with friends at the home of Tom and Katherine. Memorials may be made to Whitten Center Parents Club, Attn: Marlene Woods, 304 Dixon Street, Clinton, SC 29325, or in honor of Craig's granddaughter, Lake Cecil, Mucolipidosis Type 4 Foundation (ML4), Attn: Rebecca Oberman, 3500 Piedmont Road, Suite 500, Atlanta, GA 30305, or the Alzheimer's Association, 901 South Pine St. Spartanburg, SC 29302. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation and gratitude to the caregivers and staff of Eden Terrace and Regency Hospice for their loving care to our mother.
