Elizabeth Elaine Jones Smoak of Foley, Alabama died Friday, December 10, 2021 at South Baldwin Hospital.
A native of Spartanburg, South Carolina, she was preceded in death by her parents, J. H. and Della Jones, her brother, Marvin Jones, and nephew, Tim Jones.
Born August 27, 1936, she was a graduate of Spartanburg High School, attended York County Hospital School of Nursing, Winthrop College, and graduated as a Laboratory Technician from Spartanburg Regional Hospital. Elaine worked as a Sales Agent in commercial and residential real estate with Crye-Lieke Realtors in Memphis, Tennessee. She was the first female agent in their commercial division. She was a member of Foley United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her loving husband of 65 years, Garland Smoak, her daughters, Cynthia (Ken) Micci of Memphis, TN and Katherine (nicknamed Beanie) (Greg) Subick of Foley, AL, her grandchildren, Ian (Jana) King of Somerville, AL and Elizabeth Eads of Nashville, TN, stepbrother, Bobby Gossett of Spartanburg, SC, nieces, Cecilia (George) Mims of Myrtle Beach, SC, Susan Jones of Piedmont, SC, Robin Clary and Karen Lucktenberg of Spartanburg, SC, and her cousins, Dr. Randy Smoak of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Harriet Smoak of Columbia, SC.
Visitation will be at 6:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Floyd’s North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306. Graveside service will be 11:00 AM Thursday, December 16, 2021, in Pacolet Methodist Cemetery, Hillbrook Circle, Pacolet, SC, conducted by The Rev. Brent Dehlbom.
