Effie Lee O'Quinn Shealy, 99, of Inman, SC, died Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at RoseCrest Healthcare. Born February 4, 1917, in Colleton County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence W. and Mamie Carter O'Quinn and widow of William Denny "Asbury" Shealy. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Shealy retired as Group Manager of Operator Services with Southern Bell-BellSouth, now AT&T, with 41 years of service. She was a lifelong member of Bethel United Methodist Church and lifetime member of the AT&T Pioneers. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Chris Revis Shealy of Lake Bowen, SC; granddaughter, Christin Shealy Smith (Allen) of Inman, SC; and great-grandchildren, Lucas Allen Smith, Megan Dunlap Triplett, and Danielle Dunlap Nails. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, William Denny Shealy; grandson, Gary Dean Shealy; brothers and sister, Harry O'Quinn, Louise O'Quinn Poore, Marion O'Quinn, and Arnold O'Quinn. Graveside visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Friday, January 13, 2017, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM conducted by the Rev. David E. Nichols. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, 245 South Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306. The family is at the home of her daughter-in-law, Chris Shealy.
