Effie Margaret Rhoden Maynor, 93, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at White Oak Manor-Spartanburg. Born August 23, 1923, in Atlanta, GA, she was the daughter of the late Edward Keatley Rhoden and Lillie Belle Cates Rhoden and widow of James Arthur Maynor, Jr. Mrs. Maynor was a member of United Baptist Church and Young at Heart Club. She retired from Spartanburg Medical Center. Survivors include her Goddaughter, Kelly Painter (Rich) and their children, Hannah, Rebekah, and Jack, all of Spartanburg, SC; niece, JoAnn Cothran (Mike) and their children, Ryan and Carly, all of Spartanburg, SC; and nephew, Jimmy Daves of Mt. Holly, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Carol Maynor; sisters, Martha Mae Bishop and Ruth Daves; and Godson, Glenn Whiteside. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Thursday, December 8, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Robert Emory and eulogist Kelly Painter. Burial will be private, family only.
