Edward Scruggs Sr.

August 27, 1925 — October 9, 2015

Edward L. Scruggs, Sr., 90, of Chesnee, SC, died Friday, October 9, 2015 at Eden Terrace. Born August 27, 1925 in Chesnee, he was the son of the late Broadus Butler and Lula Painter Scruggs and the husband of 54 years to the late Jenny Turner Scruggs. A U. S. Navy veteran whom served in WWII, Mr. Scruggs retired as a supervisor from Mayfair Mills. He was a member of Chesnee First Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Lynne Scruggs of Chesnee, SC; six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and sisters, Mary Lou Cox of Greenville, SC and Frances Couch of Fountain Inn, SC. He was also predeceased by a son, Edward L. Scruggs, Jr. and son-in-law, Ken Scruggs. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Eden Terrace for all of their love, care, and concern shown to Mr. Scruggs. Visitation will be 12:30 - 2:00 PM Monday, October 12, 2015 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Graveside services will be 2:30 PM in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Gary J. Grogan.
