Edward Lawter

Edward V. Lawter, 72, husband of Patsy W. "Pat" Lawter, of 1301 Springfield Road, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 1, 2010, at his home. Born December 19, 1937, in Spartanburg County, SC, he was the son of the late Andy and Inez Shurburtt Lawter. He was a lifelong member of Whitney United Methodist Church, and a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Surviving along with his wife Pat of 49 years is a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon L. Burgess and Randy Burgess of Boiling Springs; two grandchildren, Jeff Burgess of Boiling Springs, and Shaina Ray and her husband Jarrod Ray of Campobello; and a sister, Nancy L. Dye and her husband James of Spartanburg. He was predeceased by a brother, Dan Lawter. He will always be loved and missed by his family and four legged babies. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010, in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Bill Adams and the Rev. Sal Barone. The family will receive friends following the service at the home, 1301 Springfield Road, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
