Edward Fletcher Cudd, 88, of Spartanburg, SC, died Saturday, January 11, 2014, at his home. Born January 5, 1926, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late James William Cudd Sr. and Gladys Burgess Cudd, and husband, for 60 years, of the late Alice Seay Cudd. A U. S. Navy veteran of World War II Seabees and the Korean War, Mr. Cudd was a member of Morningside Baptist Church and Hejaz Shrine Temple. He retired from teaching with Spartanburg School District #2 and was a part-time instructor at Spartanburg Tech. He is survived by nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by four brothers, J. C. Cudd, Walter Cudd, James W. Cudd Jr., and Gary Cudd; and a sister, Clara Thrasher. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Jack C. Dodds. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
