Edna Mcabee

April 23, 1926 — November 28, 2011

Edna Webb McAbee, 85, of Gaffney, entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 28, 2011, at Brookview Health Care, Gaffney. Born April 23, 1926, in Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Marshall and Edna Griffin Webb, and wife of the late Rev. Ransom Hayes McAbee. Mrs. McAbee was a member of Fairview Free Will Baptist Church and enjoyed making beautiful quilts. Surviving are her three children, Janace M. Carson (husband, the late Harold Carson), Robert W. McAbee (Sharlene), and Rodney E. McAbee (Shelia); 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Quinn, Doris Seay, Betty Pruitt, Virginia Ward, and Gayle Nunamaker. She was predeceased by her son, Raymond H. McAbee; grandsons, Darrell Brannon and Ransom Allen McAbee; sisters, Lucille Webb, Louise Thompson, Patricia Smith; and brother, William "Bill" Webb. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Tim Hackett and the Rev. Joe Geddes. Burial will be in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairview Free Will Baptist Church, 2058 Chesnee Hwy, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at the home of her grandson, Raymond McAbee, 327 Bright Wick Court, Boiling Springs, SC.
