Edna Crow

Edna Earle Crow, 94, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, March 17, 2014, at Summit Hills. Born September 26, 1919, in New Prospect, she was the daughter of the late Wade H. Coggins and Bertie O'Shields Coggins. She was married to the late Harry Johnson Crow for 68 years. Mrs. Crow was a graduate of New Prospect High School and Meredith College where she was recognized as a campus leader and president of her Senior Class. She taught school in Spartanburg County prior to her marriage. She was a member of Morningside Baptist Church and the New Covenant Sunday School Class. A former member of First Baptist Church, she worked in the children's primary Sunday School Department for 45 years. She was a member of Athenaeum Book Club and the Louise Blake Garden Club. Survivors include two sons, Harry Johnson "Hal" Crow, Jr. of McClellanville, SC, and Wade Coggins Crow and wife Shelley of Spartanburg; a daughter, Helen Crow Wells and husband Dr. Kenneth Wells of Spartanburg; six grandchildren, Emily Crow Neely and husband Kam, W. Hampton Crow and wife Kristin, Jean Crow Crowther and husband Joe, Harry Foster Crow, Logan Wells and husband Josh Smith, and Laura Elizabeth Wells; four great-grandchildren, Kirk Foster Neely, Wade Cooper Neely, Ramsey Gordon Neely, and Rita Frances Crowther. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 PM Thursday, March 20, 2014, in Nazareth Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 680 Nazareth Church Rd., Moore, SC 29369, by the Rev. Dr. Kirk H. Neely. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Morningside Baptist Church Building Fund, 897 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302. The family is at the home of Shelley and Wade Crow.
