Edna Clardy

Edna Byars Clardy, 90, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, August 12, 2016, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born July 6, 1926, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Randolph and Janie Mae Owens Byars and wife of the late Cecil D. Clardy. Mrs. Clardy was a retired dietician from Z. L. Madden Elementary School and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include her son, Michael Clardy (Beth) of Spartanburg SC; daughters, Gail Holt (Phillip) of Spartanburg, SC; and Bobbie Ray of San Antonio, TX; two granddaughters, Lauren Gibson (Michael) of Evans, GA and Michael Benavidez (Calvin); two great-granddaughters, Madison Gibson and Rebecca Benavidez and a special caregiver, Carol Duncan. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Monday, August 15, 2016, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. Danny Garrett.
