Edith Quinn

Edith Donald Quinn, 97, of 237 Old Converse Road, died Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born March 16, 1912, in Cherokee County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Luther Alverson and Minnie Pacolet Reynolds Donald and the wife of the late W. Avery Quinn. She was a member of Converse Baptist Church where she was a GA Leader, Junior Sunday School Department Director, and choir member. She was a member of the Morgan Chapter of Phythian Sisters. Survivors include a son, A. Ray Quinn (Eloise) of Spartanburg; a son-in-law, D. Sam Tennyson (Velma) of Florence; a sister, Rody D. Arthur of Spartanburg; three granddaughters, Kay Tennyson-Greer (Byers) of Columbia, Diane Tennyson of Rock Hill, and Ramona Q. Krouse (Scott) of Fingerville; two grandsons, Don Tennyson (Kelly) of Rock Hill, and Alex Quinn of New London, NC; two great-grandsons, Kristofer and Nicholas Krouse of Fingerville; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two daughters, Edith Kay Quinn and Donaleen Q. Tennyson; a brother, Baxter Donald; and four sisters, Olive Donald, Myrtle D. Bishop, Wilma D. Evans, and Cody D. Sisk. Visitation will be 1:00-2:30 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2009, at Converse Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Church conducted by the Rev. Daniel Godfrey and the Rev. Keith Stephens. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Converse Baptist Church, P. O. Box 159, Converse, SC 29329; or to Mobile Meals Service, P.
