Edith Erleen Israel Pruitt, 86, of Spartanburg, SC, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 2, 2017, at her home. Born April 12, 1930, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late John Earl and Myrtle Coleman Elliott Israel and widow of John D. Pruitt. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Pruitt was a member of Parkway Freewill Baptist Church and retired from White Stone Manufacturing. Survivors include her children, Steve Pruitt (Susan), Vicki Hensley (Rick), and Danny Pruitt, all of Spartanburg, SC, and Barry Pruitt of Cherryville, NC; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Faye Lowe; and brothers, Ned and Luke Israel. Visitation will be 11:00 AM-12:45 PM Saturday, February 4, 2017, at Parkway Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Mitchell Edge, the Rev. Wesley Murray, and the Rev. Tim Hackett. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Parkway Free Will Baptist Church, 3615 Parris Bridge Road, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. The family is at the home.
