Edith Klasen

Edith Guy Klasen died on Thursday, July 25, 2013, at UniHealth Post-Acute Care in Rock Hill, SC. Born March 23, 1925, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Jessie Dickson Guy. A 1943 graduate of Spartanburg High School, she was employed for many years at Drayton Mill-Spartanburg in the payroll department. She was a long-time member of the First Church of God in Spartanburg. Mrs. Klasen was preceded in death by her three brothers, Edgar W. Guy, J. D. Guy, and Cecil A. Guy. She is survived by her daughter, Judith K. Tolbert, and son-in-law, Dr. Thomas W. Tolbert, of Fort Mill, SC; granddaughter, Yvette R. Tolbert and her husband Matthew S. Beever of Bedford, OH; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM Saturday, August 10, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307.A graveside memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, with the Rev. Dr. John M. Bullard officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to: Partnership Cange Endowment, Diocese of Upper South Carolina, 1115 Marion Street, Columbia, SC 29201.
