Edith Green

Edith Catherine Hicks Green, 91, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, December 6, 2018, at her home. Born July 6, 1927, in Clifton, SC, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Nelson Hicks and Janie Willis Hicks and widow of Palmer Broadus Green. She was a member of Beaumont Baptist Church. Surviving are her children, Alice Martin (Ronnie) and Tommy Green (Rebecca Brannon), all of Chesnee, SC; grandchildren, Terry Hughey, Steve Hughey, and Kim Green; great-grandchildren, Stephen Hughey (Brittany), Kristen Harrell, and Robbie Green; and great-great-grandson, Camden Hughey. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Robby E. Green. Special thanks is expressed to her caregivers, Diane Haire, Rebecca Brannon, and Jean Dotson. A graveside service will be conducted at 4:00 PM Friday, December 7, 2018, in Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by The Rev. John Cox, The Rev. Rupert Guest, and The Rev. Scott Linnerud. Visitation will follow at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beaumont Baptist Church, 945 Beaumont Avenue, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
