Edith Burnett

Edith Mabry Burnett, 86, of Spartanburg, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 11, 2010, at her home. Born May 31, 1924 in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Carl C. and Luna Mae Harvey Mabry and the wife of the late James E. Burnett, Sr. A graduate of Spartanburg High School, she attended Winthrop College and was a member of Cedar Spring Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include three sons, Jim (Christina Thomas) Burnett of Spartanburg, Ric (Betty) Burnett of Doraville, GA, and Ron (Susan) Burnett of Boiling Springs; a daughter, Debbie Burnett (Hank) Johnson of Buford, GA; grandchildren, Robin Burnett (Todd) Peele of Quinlan, TX, Leigh Ann B. (Jimmy) Webb of Boiling Springs, Lesley B. (Jon) Rentz of Spartanburg, Kelly Burnett of Greenville, Erin Burnett of Boiling Springs, and Foster Johnson of Buford, GA; and great-grandchildren, Britton and Samantha Peele of Quinlan, TX, Ethan and Eli Webb of Boiling Springs, and Caleb and Creighton Rentz of Spartanburg. She was predeceased by a son, Mike Burnett of Houston, TX. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM Monday, November 15, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Todd Lowe. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home.
