Edgar Payne, Jr.

Edgar Horace "Buddy" Payne, Jr., 72, of Inman, SC, died Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born August 25, 1946, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Edgar Horace Payne Sr. and Blanche McGraw Payne. A U. S. Marine veteran, Mr. Payne retired from construction maintenance with the City of Spartanburg. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Brenda Payne; daughter, Angela Payne of Inman, SC; sisters, Edna Fleming of Boiling Springs, SC and Darlene Laughter of Spartanburg, SC; numerous nieces and nephews; and his fur baby, Sadie. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Neal. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, June 17, 2019, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Visitation will follow at the graveside.
