Homer "Ed" Edwin Reeves, 73, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, June 5, 2017, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born October 5, 1943, in Shreveport, LA and raised in Houston, TX, he was the son of the late Homer Russell Reeves and Jeanette Staman Reeves. Mr. Reeves sold research and development laboratory equipment and retired from VWR International. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Friday Morning Bible Study Group, and the "Woodpeckers" (a men's woodworking group), as well as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and after-school tutor at Pine Street School. He attended Texas A&M University, loved to sport fish locally and abroad, and enjoyed gardening and yardwork. Ed was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who was always happiest enjoying just being around his friends and family. Survivors include his wife, Ann Townsend Reeves; children, Lisa Seekatz of Dallas, TX, Elizabeth Lammons (Shay) of Plano, TX, Mary Katherine Brock (Michael) of Belvedere, CA, and Scott Reeves (Cathy) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and grandchildren, Christian Seekatz, Gabrielle, Courtney, and Scarlet Lammons, James, Caroline, and Tucker Brock, Catherine Reeves Griffin (Brandon), Carolyn Reeves Gregorie (David), and Townsend Reeves. A service honoring his memory will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 10, 2017, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 309 Fernwood Dr., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Dr. Paul M. Petersen. Visitation will follow in the church Fellowship Hall. Private inurnment will be in First Presbyterian Church Columbarium.
