Ed H. Ramsey, 64, of Boiling Springs, died Thursday, October 27, 2011, at Brookview Healthcare, Gaffney. Born July 17, 1947, in Cherokee County, he was the son of Thomas M. Ramsey Jr. of Gaffney and the late Mae Hughes Ramsey, and husband of his beloved Nancy Kennett Ramsey of Boiling Springs. Ed was employed by Butte Knitting Mills and a former entrepreneur and owner of several businesses. He was of the Presbyterian faith, a member of Lone Oak Masonic Lodge, York and Scottish Rite, and Hejaz Shrine Temple. He was also a Vietnam veteran of the U. S. Army serving as a Captain and recipient of the Bronze Star. In addition to his father and wife, survivors include his daughter, Crystal Ramsey of Boiling Springs; grandson, Dillon S. Ramsey of Boiling Springs; sister, Nancy Ashe of Gaffney; and daughter-in-law, Joey Ramsey of Boiling Springs. He was predeceased by his son, Scottie Franklin Ramsey. Visitation will be 4:00-5:00 PM Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel. A graveside service with military rites by the SC State Guard Honors Team will follow at 5:00 PM, in Boiling Springs Memorial Garden, conducted by the Rev. Christine Herrin.
