Edgar H. Banks, 83, of Duncan, SC, died Monday, December 8, 2014, at Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care. Born January 18, 1931, in Pacolet Mills, SC, he was the son of the late William Edgar Banks and Nora Seay Banks. A U. S. Air Force veteran, Mr. Banks was retired from the Air Force after 21 years of service. He was also a former employee of Pacolet Mills and was retired from Siemens and Spartanburg County Waste Management. He was a longtime member of New Life Baptist Church, Trough Shoals Lodge #228 of Pacolet, and was currently attending River Hills Baptist Church. Survivors include his beloved wife of 59 years, Peggy Nicholls Banks; daughter, Lynn Banks Wofford (George) of Duncan, SC; son, William Edgar Banks of Lyman, SC; five grandchildren, Caleb (Hannah), Joshua (Catherine), and Benjamin (Allison) Wofford, Victoria Woodie (Derek) and Rebecca Banks; three great-grandchildren, Lucy Wofford, Grace Wofford, and Kira Woodie; and sister, Nora Liles of Spartanburg, SC. He was predeceased by a great grandson, Noah Woodie; and nine other siblings. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Thursday, December 11, 2014, with Masonic rites at 12:45 PM at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Clint Peterson and the Rev. Caleb Wofford. Burial will be in Nazareth Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 680 Nazareth Church Rd., Moore, SC 29369. Memorials may be made to Mobile Meals Service, P.O.
