E. Lois Bridges, age 98, formerly of 4963 S. Main Street, Cowpens, SC passed away Saturday, December 18, 2010. She was the widow of William Floyd Bridges, Sr. Mrs. Bridges was a native of Cherokee county and the daughter of the late Brady Thomas and Lunie Reynolds Cook. She was a life-long member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Cowpens, SC. In the early 1960's when her daughter and son-in-law opened Wagon Wheel Fish Camp, Mrs. Bridges and her husband helped them for many years. She will be remembered by her family for her sweet, caring ways and her cooking ability. She is survived by three daughters, Dot Baumann and her husband Dan of Summerfield, FL; Lillie Scruggs of Boiling Springs; and Janis Ross and her husband, Floyd, of Cowpens, SC; and two sisters, Nan Berry from Greensboro, NC and Jo Ann (Morris) Lasorda from Malvern, PA. Mrs. Bridges is also survived by granddaughters, Teresa (Gene) Crow, Nedonna (Blake) Pender and Janet Scruggs and a step granddaughter, Gretchen Baumann; great-granddaughters, Lauren Sawyer, Crystal Scruggs and Rachel Ward; great-grandsons, Hughston Reeves, Seth Brannon, Jason Fuller, Kevin Scruggs and step grandsons, Scott Baumann and Zack Pender. She also has two great-great-grandsons, Christopher and Riley Fuller; and a great-great granddaughter, DeLana Brannon. She was predeceased by a son, William F. Bridges, Jr; two granddaughters, Sherry Eaker and Sheila Fuller; a grandson, Ricky Scruggs and his son Christopher; three sisters, Agnes New, Louise Keenan, and Betty Lasorda; and two brothers, Bud and Jim Cook. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 20, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church off Hwy 110 in Cowpens with the Rev. Dr. Robert W. Kirby, Jr. presiding. Private Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be immediately following the funeral in the church sanctuary.
